In early June seventy-nine Warriors gathered from across Europe and from across the Atlantic Ocean for ten wild, wet and wonderful days at Dechen Chöling. Every morning we were awoken by the sweet sounds of birdsong and clarinet played by the Assembly musician Claude Laurion; or by the call of the marching Kasung ("Are you AWAKE?"). The teachings by Acharyas Puts and Märtens were outrageous and profound and the practices carried everyone into inscrutable realms.
Meanwhile the precision of the serving, food preparation and clean-up teams was faultless and each evening the Dining Tent radiated good humour and joy as everyone relaxed over a glass of wine or two. |
